Central Cooperative Bank sanctions Rs 50 cr under various schemes
April 5th, 2008 | by admin |Srinagar, April 4: The Central Cooperative Bank in Baramulla has sanctioned Rs 50 crore to about 10,000 families in three districts of north Kashmir under various government schemes.
The families covered are in Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts.
Bashir Ahmad Lone, who took over as General Manager of the bank on Friday said the bank has provided 23,000 kissan credit cards till March 2008 under various Horticulture, Kissan Credit Card, Handicrafts and government sponsored schemes.
He also said the bank has an ambitious programme of providing 20,000 LPG connections in Baramulla district during the current fiscal.
The Bank has mobilised Rs 40 crore as deposits, he said.
He said 15 branches of the bank including the Tangdhar near the Line of Control (LOC) in Kupwara are being computerised this year and modern banking facilities like ATM are being provided to its clients.
