Seven ministers inducted into Union Cabinet
April 6th, 2008 | by admin |At least one Cabinet minister and four ministers of state will be sworn in at Rashtrapati Bhawan at 7 pm Sunday evening. The UPA leadership gave final touches to the list for the much-awaited cabinet reshuffle this morning.
As the Congress high command also discussed the removal of Maharashtra CM Vilas Rao Deshmukh and his replacement by union power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. The exercise to find the Shinde抯 replacement in the Cabinet was on. Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia is certainty on the list of Ministers of State. Discussion was on to choose one out of three contenders for ministerial posts from UP namely Jitin Prasad, Rajesh Mishra and Vijendra Singh.
V Hanumantha Rao is likely to make it to the Union Council of Ministers. Raghunath Jha of the RJD also looks set to join the ministry. There will be a tribal face form either Chhattisgarh or Jharkhand. P R Dasmushi is likely to give up his Parliamentary affairs portfolio, which could be entrusted to Vayalar Ravi.
Ministers of State Suresh Pachauri and MV Rajashekharan whose Rajya Sabha terms expire this week will be out of the ministry.
