NEW YORK (Reuters) - Chevron Corp (CVX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday it has delayed starting production at its Blind Faith project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico until the second half of the year due to a problem with its mooring lines.

Production was previously expected to start during the second quarter.

Blind Faith will produce about 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day shortly after production starts, the company said.

Chevron is the operator of the project and holds a 75 percent interest. Partner Anadarko Petroleum Corp (APC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) has a 25 percent interest.
