UPDATE 1-AES California Redondo 8 natgas unit back

NEW YORK, Sept 3 (Reuters) - AES Corp’s (AES.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)480-megawatt Unit 8 at Redondo Beach natural gas-fired powerstation in California was back on-line on Wednesday after aone-day shutdown, the California Independent System Operatorsaid in a report.
The 1,310 MW station is located in Redondo in Los AngelesCounty, about 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. There arefour units at Redondo, two 175 MW Units 5 (which enteredservice in 1954) and 6 (1957), and two 480 MW Units 7 (1967)and 8 (1967).
The other units were available for service.
One MW powers about 700 homes in California.
