WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. State Department has cleared work valued at up to $1.1 billion by Honeywell International Corp (HON.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on engines for a key Taiwan fighter aircraft even as it holds off on Taiwan’s new big-ticket requests.

A notice to the Senate of the Honeywell export license, obtained by Reuters Thursday, said the deal involved continued manufacture, assembly and testing of components for the F-124 engine used in Taiwan’s Indigenous Defense Fighter.
