Problems at Caisse D’Epargne unacceptable-Sarkozy
October 18th, 2008 | by admin |QUEBEC CITY, Oct 17 (Reuters) – French President NicholasSarkozy said on Friday that the problems at French savings bankCaisse D’Epargne are unacceptable.
Speaking in Quebec City, Sarkozy said those responsible forCaisse D’Epargne problems should bear the consequences. Thebank, which is merging with Banque Populaire [BNQPR.UL] tobecome France’s second-largest retail bank, disclosed a 600million euro ($808 million) trading loss on Friday.
